Californiangoans Christmas 2009

The IV Annual Californiangoans Christmas party was held at Sitara Indian Restaurant after the midnight mass on 24th Dec(25th morining). The party started with a Champagne toast and delicious Goan food followed by some awesome music by DJ Stanley, which brought everyone to the dance floor. Later, there was a round of Housie followed by Beer drinking which was won By George Pires, Savio Rodrigues and Micheal.The womens beer drinking was won by Maria Monteiro and Sharron Esteves.Prizes were awarded to all the winner and to all those who have been helping put together all the Califoniangoans events. The rest of the night was spent dancing to more great music by DJ Stanley and john.

Californiangoans Thanksgiving 2009

The Californiangoans Thanksgiving 2009 was held at George and Olivier's Place on 26th Nov. Thanksgiving which is traditionally a American Family celebration began when the pilgrims who first came to America shared their first harvest with their neighbouring Indians to give thanks to them for teaching them how survive the dreaded winter.Our Thanksgiving celebration was a opportunity for all of us to take a break from our hectic life and to get together with our friends and family and enjoy some home cooked Goan food.

All Souls Day (Dia De Finados)

All Souls Day (Dia De Finados in Potuguese) which is related to the Halloween Day in America or Dia Dos Mortos in Mexico is celebrated all over Goa on Nov 2nd. It follows the All Saints day feast held on Nov 1st. People across Goa hold masses for their loved ones and others, praying safe passage to the eternal life in heaven. It is followed by the Alemacea Jevon.This practice is very similar to te one in Mexico and Brazil. In America it has evolved into what is now known has "Haloween" (from Middle English Alholowmesse meaning All Saints' Day and the night before it called All-hallows Eve and, eventually, Halloween). Californiangoans Vs Mexico Game III

The third game between the Californiangoans and Mexico ended up with Mexico winning the Game 2-1 .Gracian scored the goal for Califoriangoans.

Californiangoans Vs Mexico (Game II)

Game II between the Californiangoans and Mexico was held on Sept 28th.The game ended up in a tie, thanks to the equalizer goal by our star Graciano. The final score was Californiangoans 1-1 Mexico.

Californiangoans played Mexico on 7th Sept at the Rengstroff Park in Mountain View.
The game ended up in a tie, with Ruie scoring 2 goals for the Californiangoans. Hopefully with a little more practice we will beat them at the upcoming game.

HARVEST FESTIVAL AND SPORTS DAY 2009

The Californiangoans Harvest festival and sports day will be held on August 17th at Rengstroff Park, Mountain View, Ca from 10am-8pm.

Most of the team events will be played in league format and will start 2 weeks before and the finals will be held on August 17th. Please register your team asap. Entry fee will be charged for only team events.
